We do not see it that way. We practice natural and bee-friendly beekeeping.
What does that mean for us? We only ever harvest as much honey as the bees can spare. We interfere with a bee colony as rarely and gently as possible, but as often as necessary – and in doing so, we leave them enough time and peace to simply be bees.
Doesn't really sound cruel, does it? :)
ILOVEYOUHONEY is our absolute passion. It has always been that way. That is why, from the very beginning, we have considered everything that needs to be taken into account in order to truly be "organic."
To be truly "organic," you have to be certified. We are not. And why aren't we? Because it costs money to be organic-certified. And, until now, we haven't felt it was worth spending that money. We don't need the stamp to know how we work.
But who knows, maybe in the coming years we will invest in a label rather than new beehives. But for now, for now, the bees and everything that entails take priority.
ILOVEYOUHONEY is a true Lower Austrian. At least until now. He comes from the Weinviertel. That seemed somehow natural for us. After all, we are from there ourselves.
But home isn't the only place that's beautiful. Perhaps ILOVEYOUHONEY will soon be drawn to the big city or a dense coniferous forest. It remains to be seen. We certainly are excited.
